RED CARROTS, KALETTE, AND OYSTER MUSHROOMS -- that's what's new in vegetables at the Village Market.

It's not often you see new vegetables debut in November. But that's when local biodynamic farmer Mike Lanigan's red carrots first showed up here at the Village Market. The kalette (combining the flavours of kale and brussell sprouts) has been at Mike's for a few weeks now. The oyster mushrooms (from Earth Haven biodynamic farm) were also new Nov. 7, though the shitake mushrooms next to them in the picture have been here before. Also noteworthy is that we have local organic apples from local organic farmer Jim Giffen, and from vendor Dael Wilson. Dael has fresh pressed apple juice as well. Farmers and vendors expected this Saturday:

And not to forget that this Saturday Nov. 14th, we also have the Candlelight Craft Market and TWS Open House with lots of activities for children such as candle dipping and puppet shows. Details here:
