As we go into this long weekend of reflection, we acknowledge that Thanksgiving is a holiday with a history of colonial appropriation of Indigenous Harvest festivals. We are working to decolonize our curriculum and we commit to honouring and celebrating the past, present, and future of the original caretakers and storytellers of this land. We are cognisant of their ongoing struggle.
We are grateful for the land upon which we work, learn, and play, for it is on this land that we are able to thrive as a school and community.
